An Exceptional Forest Resource

At Scierie Moulin, our expertise is based on wood from the forested regions of Auvergne and Rhône-Alpes, renowned for their quality. These forests, located between 600 and 1,500 meters in altitude, benefit from a rigorous climate that slows the growth of the trees, resulting in fine-grained wood with regular growth rings.

For several years, our team of experts has been working closely with private forest owners to ensure optimal management, maintenance, and enhancement of these resources. Our commitment guarantees productive forests and high-quality wood for today and for the future.

Commitment to Sustainable Forest Management

We are proud of our PEFC certification, which ensures the sustainable management of our forests. Sustainable management means harvesting forests in a way that allows them to regenerate naturally, thereby preserving their ability to meet future needs.

  • Sustainable Development

Sustainable development is a concept that allows us to meet current needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own. By managing our resources responsibly, we contribute to the longevity of our forests.

Timber Harvesting and Wood Utilization

We currently process approximately 350,000 m³ of logs per year and plan to reach 500,000 m³ within three years. To optimize our production, we have integrated our own felling and forwarding teams since 2014, allowing for more precise sorting right from the source in the forest.

Wood Utilization
Each log is processed according to its quality: structural wood, formwork wood, pallet wood, energy wood, or posts for electrical and telephone lines.
Our Equipment
We use modern technologies suited to the various terrains we encounter, similar to those used in Scandinavia and Canada.

Log Transport

Log transportation to our sawmill is managed by specialized trucks equipped with cranes to handle heavy loads and navigate often rugged roads. To optimize energy efficiency, we are also developing lightweight semi-trailer transport for long distances.
